Do you remember that song "Have a Little Talk with Jesus" by Brenda Lee? There are a few verses in the song that merit some reflection. However it's the hook that stands out to me. The words are as follows: "Have a little talk with Jesus tell him all about our troubles, He will hear our faintest cry, answer by and by, Feel a little prayer wheel turning, know a little fire's burning, Have a little talk with Jesus makes it right."
Isn't that true? When you have a little talk with Jesus and you tell Him about your troubles, you will find that little talk with Him made it (whatever was bothering or worrying you) right!
Can it really be that simple? Sure it can! YOU just have to take the time to talk with Him. Somehow our thought process has made communicating with Jesus more complicated than it needs to be. We have taken what is a natural element to a meaningful communication and turned it into a laborious task. Think about it. When you talk to your a confidant, do you approach it as a chore, or do you look forward to catching up and telling them the latest news and developments or even gathering insight on issues you are facing? You may even share a laugh or two which results in a stronger bond. Why do you think it is any different with the Lord?
More than anything, He wants to reveal Himself to you so you will know Him and His immense love He has for you. He desires to spend time with you. He wants to walk and talk with you. Laugh with you and hold you when you cry, or just simply need a good hug. He wants to show you how He can love on you like no one else can. Your time with Him will be precious and cover every area of your needs. You will not only feel fulfilled, but He will provide insight for everyday living so you can be a success.
Here are the awesome words of God through Apostle Paul, "I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit - not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you'll be able to take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:16-19 (MSG). This is my prayer for you today.
Experience Christ to the fullest! Walk with him. Talk with Him. Laugh with Him. Enjoy Him. That time spent with Him, will make the difference in your life, that situation and most importantly... in you.
